Dice System

There are two different dice systems in the Playspace. 2D dice that show their results in the chat area and 3D dice that are randomly rolled and dropped into the Playspace.

2D Dice

The 2D dice in the Playspace can be rolled by clicking the Dice Icons above the chat window. There are a few options for these dice that aren't available for the 3D Dice.

  • Amount: How many 2D dice you want to roll when you click the icon.
  • Mod: The modifier (+1, +10, -3) you want to be applied to the 2D dice roll.
  • Hidden: If this box is checked the roll will only be viewable to you in the chat window.

2D Dice Types

  • Skulls & Shields Dice: Roll a Dice that can either be a Skull outcome or Shield outcome.
  • d4: Roll a dice that has 4 sides.
  • d6: Roll a dice that has 6 sides.
  • d8: Roll a dice that has 8 sides.
  • d10: Roll a dice that has 10 sides.
  • d12: Roll a dice that has 12 sides.
  • d20: Roll a dice that has 20 sides.
  • d00: Roll a dice that has 10 sides to be used as a percentile or percentage.

3D Dice

The 3D Dice in the Playspace are rolled by clicking on the button for the dice you wish to roll. The dice are randomly rolled by the game and then dropped into the game for you to see the results. The dice will freeze in place after a short amount of time so that they can't be “fudged” by nudging the dice during play. We did allow a few seconds after the dice is dropped before it is frozen so that if you wanted to use the terrain to do a trick roll with the dice you would be able to.

Note: We originally had the dice roll-able by the player in the playspace that never froze into place but we found that they would often mess up the miniatures and other placed items, or fall in a way that made them hard to read.
To re-roll dice you would simply roll a new dice. To clear the Dice you can use the “Clear” button above all the dice buttons.

3D Dice Types

  • Coin: Flip a 2 sided coin.
  • Math: Roll a dice that has mathematical operators on it (used to random bonuses).
  • Battle: Roll a dice that randomly determines how a miniature acts in battle.
  • Mood: Roll a dice that randomly determines the mood or favor of a miniature.
  • Event: Roll a dice the randomly chooses an event to happen in game.
  • Chance: Roll a dice that can have a Red, Yellow or Green outcome. Used as a quick way to randomly determine saves or skill checks.
  • Direct: Roll a dice that randomly determines a map direction (can be used with the map compass placeable).
  • Alpha: Roll a dice to randomly choose a letter from the alphabet.
  • dSS: Roll a Dice that can either be a Skull outcome or Shield outcome.
